Convertible...

It was another hot day in the neighborhood yesterday... not nearly as humid and treacherous as the previous, but pretty uncomfortably close. It stormed for approx. four seconds right after I took these pictures.

I bought this summer dress on a shopping adventure earlier this week. I meandered through Forever21 per usual, and kept finding myself attracted to floral on a black ground (I am up to three dresses like that... remember this one?). This dress is a little more structured than I like, esp from Forever, only because they don't generally fit me correctly. But the pretty and delicate back cut out, as well as the button details, and the fact that it is a dress (one piece--nice and easy) made me buy it and wear it almost immediately.

I have to cover my shoulders and such at work, and with the temperatures rising awfully quickly this summer, the dresses are getting more and more open just like my new lovely little dress. To make it appropriate and acceptable, I made it convertible. I added a Primark favorite of mine (a Chambray impostor), and tied it at the waist to add a little... Randizzle

Holy Hue...

You know summer is in full swing when the brights come out. The summer sun make the colors hum and shimmer and even brighter. I decided to play around and dress up my humming hues, turn down the colors a wee bit by turning up the contrast. I paired my hot green/yellow easy H&M skirt, with a sheerish black tank and my not-so-new but hardly broken in Sinclaire jacket with bows. And of course to take it up a notch, I added my electric blue sandals (as if the blinding skirt wasn't enough).

SteppingOut...

Last week my sister and I took a late night adventure, and said "We'll be right back...Stepping out." I remember my sister saying that our late departure was "a dressed-up stroll." That it was... and at the end of said "stroll," I know my feet were feeling it.

 Part of the fun was getting ready for this impromptu excursion. A flurry of picking out clothing, a dash or two of make-up, and a lot of giggles. It was silly and spontaneous, and that may be the explanation of my ensemble. My outfit is neat and put together, but it does not look like typical "Randi Out and About on a Friday Night" outfit.  As we know, I am over the top esp going out, but of late, this is dimming. The black jeans threw my sister off and nearly threw me off too. I would generally wear a skirt or a dress, but in haste, indecision and grumpiness, I put on denim. The red shoes, sheer blouse, cinching belt and lipstick, all fit in typical Randi character. Changing it up from time to time is nice...

But it was deffo good times with my sissie in red heels and lipstick...

Secret Garden...

1.Yesterday was severely hot.

2. Yesterday it was so hot, I wished I didn't have to walk to anywhere, but the light rail station. Now, that I knew was well worth the excursion.

3. Yesterday was so hot, I wished I didn't have to wear clothes, but I did. You know, because I had to leave the house, minor. So, I wore this...

What I am not beginning to call my Secret Garden dress, because of the lovely floral print, and its coolness despite the black color. I have been wanting to and wearing this dress constantly since I was given sundress money and made this purchase. I think its a sweet dress with flowers and ruffles, that could either be made more edgy or even dressed up or down or made even more girley. I love its versatility... I can just imagine in the fall with fishnets and a leather jacket, or when it gets even hotter (ugh) with sandals sans belt.

I threw on my usual belt (it's getting tired) as well as some borrowed beauties (aka my wrist jewelry)-- a delicate gold watch and pretty bracelets, including a rose gold bangle. I also decided to repaint my nails the same Mattese "French White" varnish I had on the whole weekend.

 4. Yesterday was so hot, it makes me lust for thin fabrics and light colors, fabulous sun dresses and luxurious maxi dresses and skirts.... where do you suggest I continue my search?
